What we cook
Wong's serves the full range of Chinese takeaway classics: crispy sweet and sour chicken, salt and chilli chicken or squid, black bean stir-fries, Szechuan and Kung Po dishes, chow mein and fried rice, plus set dinners for two or more if you're feeding the table rather than just yourself. Everything is cooked to order rather than kept warm, which is why timing matters more to us than speed, we'd rather your food arrive a few minutes later and properly hot than rushed out lukewarm. We also cater well for dietary needs: tell us about allergies or preferences when you order and we'll adapt where we can, whether that's a milder spice level, a dairy free swap, or a fully vegetarian version of a dish that isn't normally meat free.
A family kitchen since 2019
Wong's opened on Broad Street in 2019, bringing Cantonese cooking technique to Barry. The recipes are the same ones the kitchen started with, not something that's changed hands or been simplified for speed over the years, which is part of why regulars tend to order the same dish for years and get the same result every time. Delivery and collection
We deliver across Barry, Dinas Powys, Rhoose, Sully and Wenvoe for a flat £2 with a £10 minimum spend. Orders are usually ready within 30 to 45 minutes depending on how busy the kitchen is, and we'll always tell you if it's going to be longer than that so you're not left guessing. If you'd rather collect, there's free on street parking right outside on Broad Street, so it's often quicker to pick up in person than to wait for delivery on a busy night.
